Oops! You got it all wrong! 
Hahah. Today, January 21, 2012, is actually the anniversary of my dental braces.
Me without them braces a year ago
Yes, one year ago, I had to go to the dentist to seek help. I had a very protruded front teeth. You can read the story here.
The first time I had it was really a torture. It took about a week of eating porridge. T_T It is true that without pain, you will gain nothing. Truly, you have to persevere to achieve something.
Then, I posted a follow-up on my braces in this post 6 months after. My teeth is more aligned now than it was before. And I think, there will be four to five more adjustments to go before I bid farewell to them.
Though it is a *cute trend* in the Philippines to wear braces, I don’t wanna live forever with them. Of course, I would wanna smile with just a flash of my teeth without some sort of metal on it.
And this is how my braces look like. Basically, there is a huge difference with what I looked like in the past especially when you see them personally.
I am really hoping that it will have the best result. Because, Php45000 (more than $1000) is not a joke! Actually, I am very thankful to have a very friendly dentist who knows what he is doing. So yeah. If you are from Iligan, go to Dr. Sardane. He is one of the bests in town. And this is not a paid promotion because my mom paid for the braces. :P He does not even know that I blog. So, that’s all.

My friend, Zarah, posted this video in our batch (4Vidas) Facebook group. Then, everyone is reminiscing the past. We started talking how Jerry Yan is still so fit and handsome despite his age. And the thing that amazes me most is that I still know each word in the song until today despite the fact that it is in Mandarin.
Yes. I was a fanatic addict. I went loco over the asianovela Meteor Garden. Ah. Childhood. I remembered, it was 2003 when it was first shown on ABS-CBN. It was the only show that made a mark. Really. Every night on TV Patrol, there was a news about Meteor Garden actors and actresses. Everyone even copied San Chai’s way of tying her hair and even that cute pink bag of hers.
So yeah. I admit that I really love Meteor Garden (until now actually). I watch the other versions because of my love for this one. I adoooooore Jerry Yan so much. The reason why I admire Lee Min Ho is because he looks like Jerry Yan a lot. I know, Lee Min Ho is sooooo gwapo but he’s not the topic here.
Basically, the song above is one of the songs I know by heart. I may not know the exact meaning (translation is different from the actual and exact meaning of something in its own language) of it because it’s plain Mandarin other than the lyrics that goes, “Oh baby baby baby, My baby baby.” hahaha I cannot even write down the lyrics. But I can belt it out anytime by mouth.
So, is there something you were fanatic of? And what is a song in different language that you know word by word?

I am a senior accountancy student at the moment. Yes, accountancy will take five years to complete at my university – MSU IIT. As part of the curriculum, we have to undergo an internship program at an actual corporate or firm setting. The fact that I have not looked for a firm to apply to is really pissing me off.
I have always wanted to spend my internship outside Iligan City. The reasons for that, I have to keep to myself. Then again, it’s kinda hard to do so especially that I am a Muslim and I wear the hijab. While most of the people think that Philippines is a democratic country, often, I think it isn’t.
While I was talking to a friend in Facebook, he pointed out that I may have difficulty in the application for internship due to the fact that I am wearing the headscarf. Albeit the performance I am willing to give, let’s get real. Most of the companies would prefer a non-Muslim to work for them. It’s not because he is better than me. It’s because he cannot be a deviance to the majority.
I know. I should not think like this. I know I am capable. It’s just that. I don’t know. Don’t get me wrong. I will not remove my headscarf for just a reason of getting an internship. My life in the hereafter is much more precious. I would never learn when something I believe in is taken away from me.
If you happen to know of a good company or if you are a company who is willing to take a Muslim accountancy student as an intern, I would gladly send my application letter to your company. It would be a pleasure.
At the end of the day, I hope and I pray that I will be able to make it. I will be able to have an internship in a company that I like most. I will be able to give my best shot. I will gladly work for every bit of learning I could grasp from the workplace. And I would not sacrifice what I am and what I believe in. InshaAllah. To the Almighty be all the glory.
